Throw away those plastic ice cube trays that make it difficult for you to freeze your fingers when trying to get ice. These silicone bowls are much easier to use! Simply flip them over without twisting or deforming the tray as a whole. I just take the lid off, turn the tray upside down and press my fingers on the bottom of each ice cube. This way the ice cubes are much easier to get, although I tap each cube individually. Not only does the bowl lid offer double protection as it keeps nasty freezer smells/tastes away by staying submerged in the water during transport from the sink to the freezer. No more swinging around trying to keep a full ice tray level while walking a few feet, tray in hand, shoving it into the freezer. I had no spills with the lid/bowl lid. I wasn't sure I would even use a lid, but now it's a must! I really like this tray/lid set. Don't even think about buying another one!
