The first was bad but the second worked
I accidentally turned on the heated seats. After replacing the heated seat switch, this was the next point in the signal chain. The first one I bought was bad (no control over most things) - Revain quickly replaced it and the second one worked. Dismantling the door was a pain (about 4 different types of screws/screw heads) - see youtube.
