Our son is a skinny guy, we discovered Dapper Snapper a few years ago and love him. Dapper Snappers has done really well in kindergarten, this year he's in first grade and they've gotten a little more snuggly but he still has trouble with the normal belt for those times he really needs to pee so I've started to look for a belt. This belt is fantastic! The magnet is really strong so small hands will take some practice to detach the magnetic clasp, but most children should be able to grab it fairly easily. Without a belt it's a lot easier to demonstrate to them than to yourself, we've learned that through trial and error. I really recommend this product, it is well made, the magnetic closure is really well made. We ordered a khaki belt and were very happy with it.
