A hole has formed after 53 easy miles

I have been walking the road for several years now. I track how many miles I run in my shoes before they need to be replaced. These shoes were my lowest mileage shoes ever! (for 97 miles!) They only covered 53 miles total. Those miles are soft paved roads, dry weather, always wear Darn Tough socks, and change shoes every day so they're never worn for days. I ended up making a small hole in the shell of my right boot around the Achilles tendon area. For the first time I did it. After that, walking was extremely uncomfortable, which is why I had to be called home today. The shoes I alternated with this one were a pair of Sketchers that I was given as a gift. Memory foam soles have become not only more convenient, but also more relevant. They were so comfortable that I always scheduled long running days on the days I needed to wear the Sketchers. They currently have almost 100 miles and still look like new. (These Asics also seem to be new except for a small hole. The optics are perfectly preserved.) Be careful when buying these shoes, the quality is just not there. The worn hole is in a pretty bad place for photos but I've tried to attach a couple of pictures showing it. This was my first and last Asics purchase ever.
