Non Toxic Piece ABC Foam Mat Review

We bought this because after all the research we had done on playmats it felt like a 'healthier' version. It wasn't supposed to have any chemicals or chemical smells, but the smell was so strong when we opened it that we had to leave it outside for two days to air out, and it still smelled when we finally put it inside. Otherwise we like it.

We got this to even out the floor tiles when our toddler got mobile. If you are not looking for anything out of the ordinary this is a great buy for the money and we are happy with it. Pros: Easy to clean, easy to mix and match, looks good, provides some cushioning from drops, etc. Consistent foam isn't as thick or durable as more expensive options. It smells STRONG at first, it needs to be aired before use. There are no "edge pieces" to frame on the sides.

How can a NON-TOXIC product have such a horrible smell, as soon as I opened the box and spread the mats out on the floor, my living room was filled with a horrible chemical smell that couldn't help but disappear even after wiping the mats with a damp cloth. Question to the manufacturer. These are made in China. Has anyone done quality control? Non Toxic doesn't smell like that. Believe me. I bought a similar product from another manufacturer a few years ago. no smell

My 6 month old son LOVES these mats and we take at least 9 squares with us when we travel so he has that familiar perch/play area wherever we go. They make great backdrops and are super easy to clean! If he's on a surface he can easily roll off of (like a sofa), I fold the mats in half and place them on the floor next to him. It's great when he's faster than my reflexes. ;-) As you can see in the video, they also withstand light teething.

This play and exercise mat serves its purpose. The smell was very strong when we first got it but it went away after a few days. We actually had 2 rugs, so we almost completely covered our playroom. It doesn't come with edges. I didn't pay attention to that when I bought it, but it doesn't bother me that much. If you want a completely finished look you will need to purchase the edges separately (if available) or purchase another set. I think they're cute just because. I also love bold colors…

I have just received the product and the label clearly states not for use on children under the age of 3 due to small parts! It is clear that these are huge parts. why is this a warning? Can it be chewed and swallowed by children under 3 years old? Item arrived quickly (thanks Revain & Play Platoon). There was no smell as others have noted (although I'm not very sensitive, I have smell induced asthma so I usually notice these things) but I also saw that there is a note in Play Platoon explaining what to do is if you notice an odor - nothing major i think, just air someday - i thought it would be good responsive customer service. As an elderly parent/homemaker father, for the second time with an 8 month old son, I consider myself somewhat experienced in childcare and child safety.
