Works well on denim, same goes for other heavier garment fabrics. I use them simply because I find it very difficult to thread a needle and/or sew on a button. Especially if the button is no longer there. They go well with any button-down pants. The same goes for jacket cuffs where appearance is not the primary goal. You will need a sharp awl or ice pick to poke a hole in the fabric. The rest of the installation is simple and easy. I've never had an error with a properly set "logger" button. That's what I call her; they are durable.
