See the bacon maker is what it is. This will keep your bacon flat as it cooks. There's no magic there. It gets freaking hot in the process, so have something handy to put on while it drips and cools when you're done. Egg shapers are a different story. In theory they are good. In fact, they are too light to be effective. You put them in a pan and then crack an egg in to get a perfectly shaped egg. Of course. However. In the end, the egg swells out from under them because they are almost weightless. Maybe a nice heavy cast iron mold would do better.
