Excellent coverage and extra protection. For a Nikon 500mm PF lens it fits perfectly but as you may have read in other reviews there are a few downsides. The tripod leg section does not fit very well as it is stretched by the overhang of the leg.2. There is no cut-out for the memory call button in the lid.3. There are no cutouts on the lens for function keys. I think this is a shoddy job by Lenscoat and they really have no excuse to cut corners on these items for a $100+ case! You are not violating the terms of the contract. but that will make me look for other options for future lens caps.
