Bought these for my husband. The first time I followed the instructions exactly and ordered the recommended strap length. He likes it, but not very tight. Since they rely on a friction fit, the next one I ordered was a few inches longer. He likes that a lot more. Now I have to order a new strap for the first one! I suggest using their instructions to find the recommended length. Then confirm if it is long enough. Use an existing belt, ribbon, rope, etc. and see what comes out of that length. In our case, the free end of the strap should go over the femur and also go under the first strap loop on that side. Then the friction holds it in place for him. If in doubt, go long, you can always shorten it.
