The feeder is well made for the price and I like the lid overlap which gives better rain protection. However, there is a flaw in the design of the perches: since the perches are perpendicular to the feeding holes, the birds have to twist their neck/body a lot to get into the feeding holes. I find that this is a problem for any bird larger than the house finch and even they avoid this feeding site when there are others. Goldfinches are the best size for perch configuration. Tubular perches with semi-circular perches provide greater flexibility in body position and birds do not have to sit directly in front of the feeding port and turn around to get seeds. I will definitely not buy again and only recommend to the smallest songbirds.
