Firmware ate does not kill 5GHz. It turned out that the old firmware set channel 140 by default (132, 136, 140 - they work quite well, but with width restrictions), the new ones use channel 100 by default - all my devices (phone, xbox one - so same as all channels in the range 100-116). Manual installation - helps until Smart Connect is turned on (there is only Auto - channel 100: D). In the new firmware, there are no channels 116 and higher at all. I had to calculate myself, the support is stupid. USB3.0 does not always start correctly (it throws I / O errors). But now more or less, 40mb / s received by samba (against ~ 30mb / s by usb2.0 on it, crypted VE400 from hitachi 1tb). Torrento-rocking chair (Download Master) uses all 100Mbps confidently. The New Download Master (PC client) is crooked and doesn't work. The range of 5GHz is doubtful (IMHO, N66U punched a little further). Do not forget that 8 LAN ports are not entirely fair. Ports 5-8 will have a total Gigabit limit when communicating with other devices on WAN/1-4. Just worth keeping in mind when planning.
