This is an excellent quality screw cap pail. I got this as a fermentation bucket for sauerkraut and other things and I like the lid better than the latch on the lid. Very sure. I put 50# cabbage in it and there was room for maybe another 20#. One of the other commenters had links to locks and grommets so I got those too. I'm happy with the price - I think it compares well to similar plastic buckets and I can get ten of these for the price of a ceramic fermenting jar. When you first open the bucket there is a chemical smell, but I think the smell is coming from the sealing material in the lid. I left it open for a day and the smell was gone.
