I recently went down the Buttenkill River. It was very flat and the river rocks were extremely slippery which made it dangerous to move even if you had to walk. I ended up throwing away the water shoes I was wearing and looking for a pair that would help in slippery situations. I read reviews online that said they would work. I was confused by the sizing because they didn't have the 8 that I wear. I ordered 7 1/2 and was pleasantly surprised that not only did they fit perfectly but they were very comfortable and had a bottom that would definitely help when walking on slippery river rock. They are durable enough to be worn as dual-purpose sneakers when entering the water.
