I bought this product to open jars. Unfortunately it didn't work when I tried it. He wasn't holding the lid of the jar at all. I gave up and dangerously opened the jar, going around the edges with a knife and ripping the lid off the jar. I wanted a better way and thought this would help, but it didn't. tried the blade end of a tool designed to open sealed packages. It worked, but not consistently. He cut through some parts but missed a few. You might be able to get a clean cut if you press really hard, but this product is meant to brighten up your hands, at least that's why I bought it. In my opinion, the hard press defeats the purpose.
