Edit* (The only problem I had was the silver paint on the end hooks. I scraped them off easily. Good. Very durable. No signs of wear even after flexing several times. None of my hamsters seems interested in chewing them. Only a couple of times as this was new to them. I haven't had a problem with mold as some have said and as the description states. But anyway, always useful to sanitize anything, what you are buying for your pets and for yourself I will be buying more of this If the seller is reading this and if it is under their control I advise you not to paint the end hooks (silver hooks silver.) I bought these to use them to be used in hamster cages. They arrived earlier than expected which was great. Upon examination, the finials, which I might attach to a cage or tie to anything, are pressed so deep into the wood that nothing can snag on them. I can dig wood around them so it's not a big problem for me. What worries me is that the end hooks are painted with something silvery that peels right out of the box. waste paint. I won't put them in a cage until I've removed them all. Other than that, they seem very strong and the trunks are thick, which I like. I'm not sure I would buy them again because of the silver color.
