Works well for what I need (under laptop storage and extra height for video calls). But it came with a few scratches (see photo) and a chipped corner. And he still had a few scratches the next day, although I tried to be gentle. I believe office equipment should be able to handle light loads without breaking down. Luckily it's an awkward situation so I'm the only one seeing it, but it definitely won't beautify your desktop.
