It fits in my most important (and largest) cup holder and keeps my drink warm all day! (I drank it fairly slowly so it still had the bulk to make it). Plus, the smooth, straight sides make it a possible (rarely needed) rolling pin on my trips to Dutch Oven meetings (along with plastic wrap). The only drawback is the design of the "inner" lid, which makes drinking while driving impossible. A hinged spout would be preferable provided it would still be airtight when closed but accidentally tipped over. I will have to keep an eye out for possible replacement caps. Overall, it works just as well as my brother's Thermos brand vacuum flasks, which either DO NOT fit in my cup holder or hold a little less volume.
