The clamp on my microphone stand broke and I bought this as a replacement. I was intrigued by the butterfly/clothespin style as they could more easily hold mics of different diameters. Unfortunately, the clip's range of motion is about 45 degrees. This makes them practically useless to me. In fact, I'm struggling to figure out what situation it would be beneficial in. I think if you get a set of files you can sand down the sides of the case and have them move 180 degrees, but I'll just look for something designed that way from the start.
