Review on 📶 Enhance Signal Strength with Netgear 6000450 MIMO Antenna: 2 TS-9 Connectors by Cameron Badoni

The perfect companion for the new AT&T Netgear Nighthawk LTE Access Point

Although not yet widely known, the new Netgear Nighthawk LTE Access Point has 2 ports on the back that can be opened to mount this antenna . The dual connection ports of this antenna connect perfectly with the access point and greatly improve the signal strength. I use this hotspot as my internet source at home. Like many routers and access points, the Nighthawk has an admin page that can be accessed using any internet browser. This page has a section you can go to that shows your signal level in dB. The dB level for a cellular signal is measured negatively, for example, an ideal cellular signal is around -50 dB and a barely usable cellular signal is around -120 dB. The Netgear admin page showed that I was getting about -115dB of signal BEFORE I connected this antenna. After connecting the Netgear MIMO antenna, the signal rose from -115 to -99 dB! This is important because every 3dB of signal gain doubles the signal strength! Speak easier and more convenient. Before this antenna, an internet speed test showed that my download speed was around 6-8Mbps. After hooking up this antenna I'm now getting regular tests over 30Mbps and tonight I tested at over 56Mbps (see attached image)! Using this antenna to get the best cellular signal at an access point makes a world of difference. The antenna comes with very few instructions or descriptions, so what I'm about to say is essential to your success with it. This is a DIRECTIONAL planar antenna. What this means to you is that it is only intended to receive a signal on ONE side of the device. You must indicate this side of the outside of your home. Unfortunately, there is no description on the antenna which side should face outwards. If you look at the antenna, there is a built-in "hump" on the BACK of the antenna. The FRONT of the antenna is a completely flat surface. The FLAT side is the side you want to point out of the window to get the best signal. The device comes with plastic "suction cups" that attach to the antenna and they only attach to the antenna in one direction. This is the perfect way to learn how to mount the antenna because if the antenna is attached to the glass with suction cups. this is the correct orientation with the front of the panel facing the window. When you don't know the direction of the nearest cell tower. Walk around the house or use your phone and place it in different windows to see where you have the most bars. Any window will give you the best signal, it's probably best to fit an antenna. You can easily mount the Nighthawk on a windowsill (as shown in my attached picture). In short, this antenna works great and the combination of this antenna and the Netgear Nighthawk LTE modem was the answer I desperately needed for high speed internet. at my place. Combine these elements with AT&T's Unlimited Cellular Data Service and you have a great high-speed Internet solution. I couldn't connect to cable internet at my house because they said it "is not offered in my area" even though a house 1/4 mile away had it. But with this setup, I've gone from service that can hardly be described as "broadband" to something that's twice as fast here as cable internet in my area. Highly recommended. Should be offered as an "upsell" in AT&T stores for people like me who have weak cellular signal at home.
