Judge performance instead of bars

I saw mediocre reviews but the price was excellent so I ordered a Verizon 7730L access point. Settling into a campground with near-unusable WiFi, I turned on the 7730L and only got two stripes. Although I didn't run a speed test, I noticed that the internet is slow. I connected the antenna, stuck it in the window with suction cups and got another pole, 3 in total. Thinking the mediocre reviews were justified, I ran a speed test and got a download speed of 20Mbps and a Upload of 5 Mbit / s…

Reasonable internet speed improvement

It works! I live in the country and occasionally get a bar on an at&t mobile hotspot. Verizon is no better. I live in hope that one or the other will work when I need internet. Hoping for the best I ordered this antenna, switched on the mifi, marked my usual 1 track, checked the speed and marked my speeds as less than 2mbps / 0.8mbps and switched it back off. I connected the antenna to the two sockets below and switched it back on. Now the same Mythi reads 3 bars in the same place on the table.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

It's in a unique location but works

Bought this with my new AT&T Nighthawk Access Point. I'm using this setup in a rural area with very poor cellular coverage. Since the access point was new, I first set it up without an antenna to see what kind of signal it would receive. I tried different rooms in the house and the signal was bad everywhere. Then I installed the antenna and tried again in different places including windows. To my dismay, it didn't improve my signal strength and seemed to decrease it in places. Then, for fun, I…

Because your hotspot works better than expected.

I have used Webboost 4g Home before and everything is fine. I bought an ATT Nighthawk Mr1100 Access Point and everything was fine so I decided to buy it. I was amazed at how much this improved my overall signal considering it's stuck to my windshield. Then I route its signal through the Linksys gigabit router and, wow, through all of my home Wi-Fi. I typically have around 20Mbps inbound and 10Mbps inbound with a ping of around 40. The tower is to the left of my front window and is 9.7 miles…

It works if you know what you're doing.

Make sure you use signal level to position it. Some phones/hotspots only refresh power every 35 seconds and it's hard to notice at first. Make sure you position it based on the consistently best db readings. Yes, it takes a lot of time. If you do this, it works great. I bet all the negative reviews are from tech illiterate people who just plug in and pray. If the position is wrong, you may get a worse signal than the phone's antenna. This is how antennas work. I got about 710dB better signal…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High Price

I didn't expect miracles but I didn't expect this antenna to make things worse! It attenuates (reduces) the signal, which is only useful when you're near huge metal buildings that cause signal reflections, or leaky cable modem wires that cause interference. Configuration: Netgear Nighthawk Atlas M1100 AT&T model. 1.3 miles from 2 operator aggregation tower (range 12+2) and 1.5 miles from 3 operator aggregation tower (range 12+2+4). I also tested an aggregation with 4 carriers near a hospital…

Doesn't increase my Nighthawk router's signal strength

I bought a Netgear 6000450 antenna to use with my Netgear Nighthawk LTE hotspot router. I am currently getting an average of 3 bands of signal around my house on this Nighthawk router and bought this antenna to hopefully "boost" the cell tower signal to 4 or 5 bands. This Netgear antenna has two T-9 connectors spaced nearly 20 inches from the antenna itself. It also comes with 2 suction cups and clips to attach this antenna to a window or other non-porous material. It also has two keyholes…

Pros
  • Wow
Cons
  • boring packaging

Although not yet widely known, the new Netgear Nighthawk LTE Access Point has 2 ports on the back that can be opened to mount this antenna . The dual connection ports of this antenna connect perfectly with the access point and greatly improve the signal strength. I use this hotspot as my internet source at home. Like many routers and access points, the Nighthawk has an admin page that can be accessed using any internet browser. This page has a section you can go to that shows your signal level…
