On the positive side the 9 inch screen was great and the video quality was good when you could see the fish. I would like to warn you that in my experience I have used a camera on a boat while fishing for perch in a lake with very clear water. What makes this ineffective for anything other than ice fishing is that even a small movement completely undermines the ability to use the camera. Deploying from my boat, even when attached or locked to the trolling motor, will mean too much movement for the camera and you won't be able to see anything as the camera is constantly turning and moving. I tried from the dock as it was a stationary position but even in 10ft of water the amount of movement in the lake as it wasn't frozen over by too much camera resulted in the camera spinning and you couldn't see anything. The only time I could see the fish was when I attached and held it to the rod and I could see the blue girls swimming towards it and looking at it, but that's not a practical way to use the camera.
