Overall this absorbs well and feels soft to the touch every time, even when wet. i plan on getting another in a different color soon. One observation is that if you have tile flooring (not my choice, just how the apartment came) like I do, the rug becomes extremely slippery if ANY water gets under it or soaks through. This led to a close call and my almost falling hard before I caught my balance on the sink. I checked below and there was a two-inch long streak of water that I by chance stepped right onto.I tested it from other angles and as the water spread, the carpet lost more and more traction. I wiped the floor dry and the rug stopped slipping, but this could be a major hazard if you shower after someone that was a bit splishy or splashy. Not sure if the same would happen on other types of flooring, but tile is definitely one to beware.
