Review on Katadyn Hiker PRO Replacement Cartridge by Dragan Nelson

Expensive but works I have a water filter at Katadyn Base Camp that works great. I've been on several backpacking trips to different parties and it works way better than other pump filters I've seen on others. I've used it in Colorado and New Mexico. The water filter at Katadyn Base Camp is a gravity-based system. Just fill it with water and hang it on a tree and it will do the work for you. Only complaint, the filter only seems to work for a trip or 2. Of course, the trip to New Mexico took a week and it filtered out some of the foul looking water. But I've had the same results filtering water in Colorado where it works great for 4-5 days (filtering what looks like clear water) and then it's time for a new one. Remember I filtered the water for 10 people so it was used 2-3 times a day. For a small group, this should be enough for several rides.
