Lives up to its reputation so far. doesn't consume much battery power and things stay evenly cool. Much nicer than constantly changing the ice in the fridge and eating raw food when something isn't quite tight. We use it on car trips as well as camping. We have a separate small battery to power the fridge when the machine is off. Depending on how cold we set it (it freezes things if you want) we use about 1 amp hour an hour on average, so even a very small 14 amp hour battery will power it for two nights. (typical car battery 30 to 50 amp hours) I subtracted a star because the internal temperature of the fridge is always a few degrees different from the temperature displayed on the front panel. But it's constant. So if you know how bad it is for you, you can simply program a slightly higher or lower temperature on the front. Great fridge so far.
