I have only good things to say about this car. I've been using it for almost two years so I know what I'm talking about. If you decide, then I advise you, take it, you will not regret it. Heats up in a reasonable amount of time, ideal for large jobs - I'm a fashion design student so I have to iron the fabric a lot! I also use it in place of a heat press and if you're doing small jobs that's great for that. He has a timer that expires when he makes a segment. Once I forgot to turn it off and went to work but it turned off automatically. The Steam setting works as described and is really ideal for large projects, but I don't use it very often. I prefer to use a spray bottle to dampen clothes because when I'm working on projects that don't require steam, I don't want to accidentally get water on them! But that's just a personal preference. This thing can get pretty hot on certain settings, no more than a really good iron I suspect, but it's a big surface area so be aware. I got burned a few times moving clothes, but that was user error. For garments that require a lot of maneuvering, you still need a standard household iron. I can never get him to iron my shorts properly without leaving new creases as my shorts are too small to fit on the work surface so I have to put them all under, front and back. All in all I can say that it was worth every penny I spent on it. I keep it on my desk and when I'm ready to iron I just open it and turn it on. No need to take out the ironing board and try to install it in my small space. I have to say I wish the work area was bigger, but that's because I use it to iron fabrics. I don't see why this could be a problem for the average user. Also, I found ways to iron the fabric without gathering on one side while I finish the other side. Great buy for the long haul. The reviewers who complain that it's bad must have gotten a bad car, but this is one of my best buys and I will definitely be buying it again!
