We panicked when negotiating with someone to buy a five wheel trailer because my husband's truck had a gooseneck built into a steel platform. . He called and spoke to a specialty store who said it would cost about $1,300 to weld on the social mount, mount and adapter. When we found this we were so happy. This thing was a problem installing because the pilot bits kept breaking while drilling. Big holes to tighten the internal screws, it's too long and several trips to the hardware store but luckily we managed and only had to do it once. With this adapter we can tow so easily!
