I can normally assume these bulbs will last about a year in my kitchen, but maybe they're a bad batch. This is my first time buying GE lamps and I will not buy them again. Some burn out in a few hours, others flicker. Very disappointed.

Illuminates the garden landscape very well. I bought (4) lightbulbs and installed them in front of the snow. A 6 inch snowfall covered everything completely. The light works on a timer and turns on according to a schedule. Your heat has thawed the area around the lamp(s). A lamp cracked and failed; the rest is OK. Maybe they are not "snow protection"?

I risked that the negative reviews could be on cheap Chinese copies. But they probably weren't. You would think that because it's GE, there has to be some kind of quality control. The base of my lamp (the threaded part) is curved in such a way that it won't screw into the mount without pressing the glass firmly against the walls of the mount. Hmm why not (something to vote for). other applications where bright, even beam spread is desired in a compact package. The color temperature is only 2950K. My general assessment is that mains voltage halogen lamps like these are unsurpassed in light quality. However, they generate a lot of heat and often do not live up to their performance specifications. Bought 5 of these to replace 5 of the same GE model as they are burning out. Good bright focused light. No complaints. The only comment is that its base is clear, which allows it to glow a little and make the bulb itself brighter, which differs from the old bulbs I have, they are completely white and don't have that effect. Next time I'll make sure to paint them white as they let in more light and aren't as noticeable as these.
