Review on 💾 16TB My Book USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive by Western Digital: Password Protection & Auto Backup Software Included by Jonathan Wilson

Have been using WD hard drives for many years. You need a very large drive in a RAID 1 configuration to house your music collection. Revain was priced lower than other lower capacity WD drives. Please note that the low portability rating is not an issue - this is a desktop external drive and should not be moved, especially while in use. I only have two complaints. First, the drive came from abroad, which I knew when I ordered it. What I didn't know was that it would have European and UK power cords. This isn't really a problem as I have plenty of suitable power cords - I used one from an old Apple TV. Second, the disc comes with utilities. Unfortunately, this software has not yet been updated to support macOS Big Sur, which causes the hard drive to spin down at night. I have contacted WD support to find out when the software will be updated but have not received a response. I got an answer, just no answer. The solution was to remove the WD software. Since then the drive has not turned off and had no problems. But overall a clear thumbs up. WD makes good, reliable drives and I expect years of good service from this unit.
