You should know that I've worked with configuring Cisco devices (routers, switches, access points) mostly from the command line, so I'm not a typical home user. It's an entirely web-based interface, not so intuitive for non-technical users who may need more than just "plug and play with a few clicks to create an SSID for a wireless connection name". I was kicked out less than two hours after setting it up. from WiFi. I thought I did something wrong trying to understand the configuration options on the screen. Rebooted with factory reset and reconfigured everything. In any case. After about 12 hours (overnight) I lost the 5GHz band, 2.4GHz band was visible but wouldn't accept a connection. It turned out that the WAN (ISP) connection might be down, leaving me with no way to access the device and I was in a hurry to connect. I just restarted the router again. After about 4 hours I disconnected from both WiFi bands at the same time. Only *one* device that was closest to the device stayed connected and transmitting normally. I noticed that this issue has been reported on the Cisco Community website since last November with no response or solution comments. I tried signing up for an account on their website (mandatory) to report the issue and got an email saying the account needs to be verified for eligibility. My only option available here at Revain is to request a return. I hope to do business with this device if I can't get help to get it working in a basic home environment first? I'm willing to keep this device, but only if I get a quick fix from Cisco. If so, I'll be happy to update and let other potential buyers know if everything is stable. Delivery was quick - a day earlier than expected, but I think that's also Revain's credit.
