Should work well for planks, but not thick beams.

They will work fine BUT I figured a Rockler T-Bolt and T-Track would be the best solution to MY PROBLEM. They can be perfect for your application. I have bars that are 3" thick and don't have the "reach" to handle them. They should be fine for holding 1X or 2X boards.
