All the claims in this product description are true, this pen feels great on the iPad, it's quiet and feels like writing on paper. However, I draw a lot with the Apple Pencil's pressure sensitivity when using digital "brushes". Two days later (maybe 6 hours total?) I made a hole in one of these spikes. I have to say though that my Apple Pencil tip is already worn, maybe a bit sharper than when it was new? This cannot happen when these tips are adjusted to a new pencil point. I've also read on Apple's website that the oleophatic coating on an iPad screen wears off over time anyway (which doesn't make me happy!), and I'm wondering if the resilience of this silicone tip will speed up the process. I previously had a matte screen protector (Paperlike brand) on my iPad to achieve a similar effect, it also worked very well for making drawing look like paper, but I took it off because such intense drawing was heating up the processor , and I thought removing the protective film might make a difference. It turns out not. (Heat is a known issue at Apple, and they recommend avoiding glass screen protectors.) I assume these tips will work for those who don't use as much pencil pressure as I do, and might even work. on a new (unworn) Apple Pencil tip. I bought new pencil nibs, will try the new nib and hopefully will remember to update this review after using it for a while. Update: Using these nibs on a brand new Apple Pencil nib, a hole was still grinding through one of them in a day's work due to the amount of pressure I frequently apply. So I think they're great for people who use pencil for note taking or light sketching. I just don't recommend them for large scale digital "drawing" (like using Procreate or Adobe Draw).
