I purchased a large train set last year for our big family Christmas tree . This year, I wanted my almost 4 year old to have a little Christmas tree in his room. After all, can you really have too many Christmas decorations?! I got one of those tinsel Christmas trees from the Hobby Lobby and lots of decorations. I wanted him to have a train to go around his tree too (like the big family one). I chose this one because it has the light and sound which are great for keeping the littles attention. I can honestly say I wasn't sure if the train would even be used as it was intended or if he would walk around and play with it. I can happily report that he does both. He likes to take it off the track and play around with the train during the day, but when he is in his room he puts the train and it's train cars on their 'home' track. So, I guess it's actually the best of both worlds. The little horses he gifted to his sister (after all she didn't get a Christmas train and tree in her room- next year I guess!) It's just the right size for a mini tree or for play of course.
