The bottom thermostat on an old water heater needs replacing - instead of replacing parts piecemeal, I decided to spend a few bucks more and get the job done on time. all parts are still available. Should be fine as long as I don't care as long as the tank doesn't start leaking. Removing the bottom element allowed me to use a shop vacuum to remove sediment.
