Works. The instructions make this a lot harder than it really is. I stopped reading after the first paragraph lol. If you're like me, you like very simple settings. So that's the simplicity, instead of trying to open it with the serial number they give you to open it because it's pre-locked I just gave up and removed the gray cover and opened it with two sets of keys which they gave give you , simpler. I then put in the included batteries and a few extra screws, so I just tossed them in my dresser. I pressed the red button in the door and you have a few seconds to create a 0-8 digit PIN. I selected 8 digits (my birthday lol, just now) and then pressed c, that's the last key on the far right, and it's lit green with yellowish, that's confirmed. That's all. I only needed one sum to keep my money away from everyone and especially my kids because my 2 year old used to throw away my money ($520) and house keys. So I just stash it in my closet and we're good to go. Note I don't know if it's in my room or in the safe but it seems to have some light on Benjamin's face which is a bonus because it looks good. Maybe it's 4 items in a box not knowing what the vent or quantity is. Also a hint for future reference: Money has a lot of room when you stack it, but it will eventually fall out when you have a lot of it. Because what you see in the photo are 9500 hundred dollar bills. So if I had them for $20, that would be too much. In any case, you can put everything in the decoration. But if you want to do it neatly I should put it in an envelope or bag to make more room and not be so sloppy you know and fall out lol. Just a thought EDIT June 13th a few days after you received it. Oh, the money's gone when you tip it I can not believe that. I was just taking it out of the closet to put more money in and it slipped out when I put it down. Couldn't believe it and I checked and shook it again and more came out. I was just reading reviews to find mine to edit and I saw a review I didn't see before purchasing. If you drop it, it will open. Maybe it's true, I haven't dropped or tested it, but I found your money could slip away. Hmm how that totally defeats the purpose of it. So I have to put it in a purse or a sumtin. I even subconsciously told myself to do it with my original comment about putting it in an envelope, but I just said it would be neater and more consolidated, but I think it was a hint that it might happen. This is for protection, not just to look neat. What a coincidence. I still like it and I'm not going back. But you all just pay attention.
