Review on 🔪 GBC Paper Shredder 80X - Auto Feed, 80 Sheet Capacity, Cross-Cut, Personal Use (1757574) by Young Rich

I have a small law firm and really need a shredder to get rid of private client information. I was afraid to get a paper shredder. The last shredder I had was one of those on the trash can. It was noisy, jammed constantly and didn't grind well. I was immediately drawn to this model with the function of automatic batch feeding. My files are typically 65 pages per customer so it was nice to see that I didn't have to sit and load a few sheets at a time hoping I didn't load too many sheets and jam the suction cup. With this feature, you put paper in the stacker, close the top of the feeder and it does the rest. It takes about 3-4 minutes to cut 80 pages and it's QUIET! The sound is like a dishwasher. So far it's cut out everything I've put in: staples, credit cards, smooth receipts, plain paper. I haven't tried thicker paper, but it specifically says it can't work with thicker paper. I don't have any tickets so it doesn't bother me. I only have 2 cons: 1) The recycle bin is a bit small. If you load 80 sheets in the ADF, it will fill the entire basket and need to be unloaded. On the plus side, it will let you know when the bin is full. 2) It tends to overheat a bit. There is an indicator on the front that shows if the device is hot. It will automatically stop grinding. Once the indicator goes off, you need to restart the machine. I had a huge stack of papers that I hoarded while waiting for the shredder to arrive. Probably 600 pages. It started to overheat after the second round of 80 pages in the auto feeder. After 4 minutes the display went off. So it was a little disappointing, but I doubt I'll save a ton of files to do it all at once like I did this round. This paper shredder is definitely for the home or small office. It can't compete with big commercial or industrial models, but overall I'm satisfied.
