I waited until I had a chance to actually test them before posting a review. I only ordered one unit to try them out. This became my main problem because having only one amp in one ear caused problems for me. I wouldn't say it caused vertigo, but there was a definite "compensation factor" where one ear heard differently than the other. Remember, neither ear is good, but I put a block in the left ear because his hearing is worse. Then I didn't hold the device far enough to my ear (which is warned against if you read the manual), so it whistled and buzzed. After a few weeks I've found that it definitely helps me hear in noisy environments, but I don't use it because it seems...unbalanced. So I ordered a second block. Viola! With one in each ear (fully inserted), bumps disappear and you just hear better (especially in noisy environments). It's just a staple on those sorts of devices where you sometimes hear amplified background noise too, so not completely 'transparent', but there's some improvement and comfort in using both.
