Need a good mod

This thing has a protective rubber band on top to avoid scratching the paint but there is no such thing on the bottom, I've tried them on tight to my hood and a few Installed from pod lights they seem strong and the whole thing didn't budge, but after removing them I found the opposite side of my hood was bent. Although it doesn't seem like much, because who will notice without opening the hood. I put a little 3M tape under the hood to add a layer of protection and make the whole installation more secure.
