Beautiful everyday easel

My friends and I have a painting night once a month. It didn't start as a tradition, but now that we're doing it more often, I want an easel. I was looking for something that was inexpensive and yet looked relatively durable. It seemed like it fit the bill thanks to the A-frame design and chain section. I thought everything would be fine, but nothing special. It's actually surprisingly fun. The wood is smooth and painted in a beautiful cherry color. It was pretty easy to follow the instructions to put it together. The part of the instructions that wasn't very clear was about attaching the chain. My husband was able to use his building skills (he works in construction) to figure things out quickly. The end with the small screw needs to be inserted into the back leg. My husband was able to do this with his drill by taking out the drill and inserting the round part into the grooves where the drill would normally go. You can use the thumbtack to make a hole and then insert a small screw. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ The other end of the chain attaches to the circle on the front of the easel. I put some of our (very mediocre) paintings on the ledge to show what it looks like when the paintings are on the ledge. Basically, if you're looking for a top-notch easel, this product may not be for you. If you're looking for something inexpensive that's really great for everyday painting, this is perfect.

Pros
  • Portable and lightweight
Cons
  • Expensive

Useless instructions, but not terrible

Buy a metal easel instead or sturdy wood easels.
