Programming just isn't possible. The included USB cable connects easily to the device, but will NOT work on the computer until you download a driver update. And this is from their site (the download contained a trojan which I removed prior to installation). When downloading frequencies, be prepared for many viruses and 3 trojans. Entering frequencies manually works well, but many bands have changed. When you turn on the device to talk, DO NOT STAY IN THE HOUSE, various electrical devices will be turned on. When this item was turned on, it entered my televisions and radios, as well as my neighbors' devices. This is definitely, as the manufacturer says, high performance. In addition, it will NOT receive police, emergency, or fire frequencies if those public service frequencies are within a 5-digit frequency, e.g. B. The frequency of the Nebraska State Police is 39.050. Update although I can't get certain frequencies and programming was a brutal pain. The company refunded me in full and I was still able to keep the product. They also sent me a bluetooth programmer which still works great. I couldn't be happier with what I have. I have upgraded the 1 star on this item to 4 stars. The company listens to feedback.
