This is a really cool idea. I wanted to upgrade the camera from a lower quality IMX179 based USB camera to a home made telecine (8mm film digitizer). This allows me to use the Raspberry HQ camera almost like a simple device without having to buy and learn a Raspberry Pi computer and make extensive modifications to my telecine. However, the image quality is excellent and the frame rate is as advertised. There are a few caveats with my Linux Mint 19.2 system. I'm using guvcview and it works great, but for some reason guvcview quickly starts capturing still images by itself. I don't know why, but pressing the I button (image key) stops him - doesn't kill him, but is annoying. VLC on Linux works fine with it, but I couldn't get Cheese to recognize it. It seems to work fine on Windows 10, but I'm a Linux guy. I don't know what a microphone is, and YMMV, but I'm very happy with this cool gadget!
