It's literally plug and play. Works right away. No clicks, no websites, no drivers, no downloads, etc. Responds correctly to volume button commands and plays in stereo (both left and right play). When plugged in, the original headphone jack is automatically disabled. The sound quality is the same as the original audio connector (in terms of bass, treble, clarity, etc.) but not as loud. I would rate this playback at 90% of the original sound card/audio port volume. Basically satisfied. A $12 device is a great alternative to paid computer repairs.
