I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu Lt and the trunk almost never opens or latches. I had to slam the trunk multiple times for it to latch and press the button 10 times to release. Replace it with this one for a quarter of what it would cost just for the part at the dealer. It was a direct replacement: I took the old one off and put the new one on, just added some petroleum jelly where the emergency lanyard goes to make it slide easily. It looks just as solid and identical to the original! 3 month old update still works fine, no problem!
