I think I should have read the description better. They are NOT made of plastic and are NOT designed to be mounted on a fence but are nailed to the wall. A wall around an electric fence? Yeah right! They may be "coated" but they aren't coated on the sides where moisture can get in and turn them into a pretty yellow goo. Do not worry. Be smart, READ the description and get the PLASTIC OR METAL ones that have zippers. I will continue to use them until they die and if I am wrong about the lifespan I will edit my review.
