Review on DMR Chain Tensioner Stainless Steel by Neil Bodell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best option I've found for single speed conversion

This thing works great! I bought one of the junk spring models for $25 and broke it right away. It pulls into position and stays there. It also doesn't stick to the spring compressors. I use a very heavy half link chain on an old 90's steel frame Mtn bike that I built for the pump track. I've passed this bike quite a few times, even on some rocky trails, and it's still in place. I didn't use the lock either. Anyone who says it doesn't work has no idea. I will be using one of these in my next build and highly recommend using even taller tensioners (cough singulator) to save space.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • weak
