My two cats were always outside in the house until they woke me up early in the morning recently. Closing the bedroom door didn't solve the problem as they were clawing at the door and meowing/crying to be let in. I bought the tallest pet gate I could find (Carlson 41-Inch Extra Tall Gate Pet) and fenced off the hallway. leads to bedrooms. I was worried my cats would just jump over it (they can walk 41 inches) but for some reason they're holding back. So, I'm thrilled with the results! One aspect to consider is the width of your doorway. The extension that came with this product was too wide for my 35" entryway. I had to purchase the 4" wide extension kit separately. On the other hand, I'm glad they sell multiple sizes for different sized doors. I'm so happy to go back to sleep that I don't mind the extra cost! Wall Protectors: I have in my hallway Baseboards interfering with the bottom clamps. I just put a Superslider furniture pad between the bracket and the baseboard. For the top brackets I used baby gate protectors to protect the wall. No problem, works great! Size tip: My entryway is 35 "Wide and slightly narrower at the bottom due to the baseboards. The original gate fits a 29"-34" opening. A 6" extension is included which allows the gate along with the extension to fit 35-40" Openings.Baseboards in my hallway reduce the opening by 1-2". To me, this meant the original door wasn't wide enough to cover the area en, and the 6 inch extension was too wide. So I bought a 4" extension and it works great!
