My car is old and doesn't have steering wheel controls. Head unit from the steering wheel. Installation was pretty easy if you have Android head units with a pinout guide. Just connect the receiver wires to button 1, button 2, power and ground. The ground must come from the main unit as connecting an external power supply will not work. (So don't test it with a portable power bank, etc.) Once installed, it was pretty good. After mapping device functions to the buttons, I was able to conveniently control music and navigation without touching the screen. I used it for 3 months and the only problem I had was that the battery that came with it only lasted 2 months. I wasn't expecting much from the one that came with it so I replaced it with the one I bought at my local store. I'll see how long that lasts.
