Update: Half-life lamp not worth it

UPDATE April 2014: For about 2 months the projector has been blinking for a minute when first turned on. Experience has shown that this means that the light bulb is on. He worked a little over a year and put about 750 hours into it. The previous two OEM lamp assemblies ran about 1500+ or - hours before flickering. And another friend's exact same projector got about 1700 from his 2 OEM lamps. It throws out a slightly smaller image than I do. 135 compared to my 144 inches. When I turn off the lightbulbs, I am VERY careful not to touch anything with my bare hands. I wear powder-free nitrile gloves at all times. I'm soft in everything. However, it looks like I'm using about half the life of this bulb. Indicates this is not really Osram Sylvania. In addition, it has never seemed as bright as two previous original OEM lamps manufactured by Mitsubishi itself. I guess I'll bite the bullet and just order a $300 bulb from an authorized Mitsubishi dealer next time. learn life. I'm guessing $75 for a year of use (1/2 life) is less bright but not "terrible," but that's not what they advertise. Attention buyers. First Review: I chose the lightbulb because I didn't want to pay $300 for a lightbulb and I was worried about all the counterfeiters. It was a little difficult to replace this bulb, but so far so good. After about 15 hours of use, everything seems to be working properly. Note. If your lamp assembly is even slightly damaged from overheating, as is often the case, don't even bother trying. My physique is in great shape, but when you start pulling, touching, handling things, they can start falling apart in your hands as the heat has baked them. I replaced 2 DLP bulbs and one is a shame because the assembly literally fell apart. So first, take out your assembly and do a little teardown to see if you should get a whole new build or if you can get away with buying a lightbulb. Mine was purchased from Electrified for $75 and looks like a legitimate OEM replacement by the way.
