I'm not entirely sure about the difference between the outer plane of the glass and the digitizer. The outer panel that protects the inner workings of the iPad is broken, cracked, I sealed it with tape and here it is. I put it together after sawing off the corner of the iPad that was bent so this new glass panel wouldn't break easily because it would fit flush into the iPad's aluminum body. (I also used some cement, it becomes transparent after drying.) The Amazon package had some tools that I used and an extra sheet of glass or maybe acrylic, not sure and not sure what I use them for supposed to, maybe it's a screen protector, but it seems awfully thick, it's like three seconds thirty. I'm not sure. I will re-read the description and also get a tape measure for this panel. But the new screen had a splash screen and cable that plugged in easily once I removed the inner panel, which I thought was called a digitizer but I don't know.
