Review on πŸ”₯ Cryorig M9A AMD Tower CPU Cooler with Jet Fin Acceleration System - Silver/Black - Compact Size for Optimal Performance by Patrick Mccall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cools great and is MUCH quieter than a standard AMD machine.

Great budget air cooler. I bought it because I couldn't stand the crazy fan noise from my wife's desktop anymore. It had a stock AMD cooler and the thermal paste was starting to dry out, but the fan was terribly loud. So loud I'd swear if that thing woke up. I wanted to find a relatively inexpensive air cooler that was quiet and cooled well enough to allow for moderate overclocking if I was going down that route. Cryorig is relatively easy to install, although the instructions are a bit sparse. It wasn't immediately apparent that there had to be some play between the backplate and the mounting block, but once I had everything assembled I found that the play had been eliminated when the heatsink was installed. The performance is exactly what I expected. It cools an average of 10 degrees warmer than the stock AMD heatsink and is much quieter, which is what I was looking for. It looks great and the build quality seems excellent considering the price. Personally, I didn't have any clearance issues with the M9A, but the fan is probably only a few millimeters away from the first RAM slot. It's not a problem, but it's stuck. If I were looking for a different air cooler, I would definitely look for a different Cryorig device. It also comes with thermal paste, which is an unexpected and nice touch.

Pros
  • CPU fan
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
