I haven't used a display that big except to connect the laptop directly to a 65 inch TV. The largest monitor I've used is the wide 27-inch UHD display. This monitor is HUGE if you want a very large monitor for gaming or large documents. This 30-inch WQXGA display doesn't look "wide" because the aspect ratio is 16:10, unlike some other wide aspect ratio monitors that are wider. This monitor is great for: 1. Large documents in your code/text editor. I'm using it with Sublime to display these json/yaml.2 files. Work in Lightroom and Photoshop or other image editing tools. I don't print much, so color matching isn't a big issue for me. This does not mean that there are color matching problems with this monitor. But the extra workspace it gives me really allows me to view larger thumbnails so I can tweak them.3. Work in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or other video editing tools. I do a lot of home video editing with Final Cut Pro and this monitor makes a world of difference.4. games. Although I'm no longer a gamer, I understand that this monitor can be really good for gaming. I can't say anything about frame rates in games. But I don't see a problem with the 8ms response time; However, if you are a gamer and response time is critical, 8ms might be too slow for you. Ports: Like other Dell monitors in this series, this monitor has all the ports you need to connect all your desktops and laptops. - 2 DisplayPort (DP) which allows you to connect multiple monitors to one computer. )- 1 Mini DisplayPort (mDP) - 4 USB 3.x ports with integrated USB 3.x PIP Hub: This monitor supports Picture in Picture (PIP). You can display two available sources (DP, mDP, HDMI) on the screen at the same time. This allows you to view side-by-side as well as the regular box on the screen. Although I don't use it, I tested it by connecting a FireTV Stick to its HDMI port. Having received this monitor for review, I purchased a Dell AC511 Wired USB Soundbar which is a perfect match. I recommend buying if you want the sound to match your monitor. All in all, this is a great monitor if you want a really big monitor. I also recommend checking it out and comparing it to the Dell U3417W 34-inch curved monitor, which is even cheaper. If I had to choose between this 30-inch and 34-inch monitor, I would probably choose the 34-inch monitor due to its wide aspect ratio. But those who prefer the larger 4:3 aspect ratio will probably like this 30-inch monitor better. Both monitors are great and I've used them both.
